The John Deere Z345M 42-Inch 22 HP Dual Hydrostatic Zero-Turn Riding Mower combines responsive zero-turn maneuverability, strong V-Twin gasoline power, and John Deere’s 42-inch Accel Deep™ cutting system in a compact residential ZTrak™ platform.

Built for homeowners who want faster mowing and significantly better maneuverability than a traditional steering-wheel lawn tractor, the Z345M uses independently controlled hydrostatic drive wheels to deliver a true zero turning radius.

Power comes from a John Deere-branded 22 HP, 724cc V-Twin gasoline engine. The engine uses an air-cooled design with full-pressure lubrication, a replaceable oil filter, and a cast-iron cylinder liner to support dependable residential mowing performance.

The V-Twin configuration provides smooth power delivery for normal mowing as well as compatible mulching and material-collection applications.

At the center of the Z345M is the 42-inch Accel Deep™ 42A mower deck. John Deere designed this deep-deck system to provide efficient airflow beneath the deck, helping grass stand upright before cutting and allowing clippings to exit efficiently through the side-discharge opening.

The deck measures approximately 4.5 inches deep throughout its shell and uses a stamped-steel, flat-top design. John Deere states that this design improves clipping flow, cut quality, productivity, cleanliness, and overall versatility.

Cutting height can be adjusted from 1 to 4 inches in 0.25-inch increments, providing multiple settings for different grass types and seasonal mowing requirements. A deck transport position is also provided.

Power is transferred through dual Hydro-Gear EZT hydrostatic transmissions controlled by twin motion-control levers. Independent control of the rear drive wheels allows precise turns around trees, landscaping, fences, garden beds, and other obstacles.

The Z345M is capable of speeds up to 7 MPH forward and 3.5 MPH in reverse, giving it significantly faster mowing capability than many traditional residential lawn tractors.

Operator comfort is supported by an 18-inch medium-back seat with armrests and spring suspension, along with approximately 3 inches of no-tool seat-position adjustment. Twin adjustable motion-control levers allow the steering position to be tailored to the operator.

A flip-up foot platform provides improved access to key service areas, while a covered storage compartment and cup holder add everyday convenience.

With its compact 42-inch cutting system, true zero-turn steering, V-Twin engine, and 7-MPH mowing speed, the Z345M is particularly well suited to residential properties containing trees, landscaping, garden areas, and other obstacles.
